London-based blues/soul artist Kat Eaton follows up her Dutch radio favourite ‘Barricade’ with new soul cut ‘Checking In.’

“Checking In was written in an afternoon with Nick Atkinson, and an amazing songwriter from Liverpool called Lee Broderick. It’s about still having feelings for someone, and whenever you’re drunk you can’t help but give them a call even though you know they’ve moved on. You pretend there’s a reason for calling them but in reality you just need to hear their voice.”

Kat Eaton is rapidly making a name for herself in the UK, as well as overseas. Originally discovered through BBC Introducing, Kat's singles ‘Giving It Up’ and ‘The Joker’ earned her strong support from the late Sir Terry Wogan on BBC Radio 2, Robert Elms and Gaby Roslin on BBC Radio London, as well as BBC Introducing in Sheffield. 'The Joker' was also play-listed at BBC Radio London and NPO Radio 2 in Holland. Two more singles from ‘When You’re Not Around’ EP were playlisted at NPO Radio 5. Kat’s two latest singles ‘Where Were We’ and ‘Barricade’ were both playlisted at Radio 5 for 12 weeks, the latter becoming Breakfast and Drivetime ROW on NPO Radio 2.

Having already toured the UK/EU supporting various artists (Jools Holland, Marc Broussard, The Teskey Brothers, Mama’s Gun), selling out multiple headlines shows in London, co-writing with the likes of Ruby Turner, Caro Emerald and Andy Platts (Mama’s Gun/Young Gun Silver Fox) and breaking through to new territories via the national radio airwaves of Holland and Belgium, Kat has established herself as one of the hardest working and versatile talents ascending in the UK music scene.
