THE ZOMBIES CELEBRATE THE 40th.ANNIVERSARY OF THE RELEASE OF "ODESSEY AND ORACLE"
MARCH 7th. 8th. 9th 2008
SHEPHERDS BUSH EMPIRE, LONDON.

TO CELEBRATE THE 40th.ANNIVERSARY OF THE RELEASE OF "ODESSEY AND ORACLE", THE FOUR REMAINING ORIGINAL ZOMBIES ( COLIN BLUNSTONE, ROD ARGENT, CHRIS WHITE AND HUGH GRUNDY ) PLUS KEITH AIREY, WILL BE PLAYING "ODESSEY AND ORACLE" IN IT'S ENTIRETY FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME. WE WILL ALSO BE PLAYING ARGENT AND SOLO HITS WITH OUR TOURING BAND ( KEITH AIREY, JIM RODFORD AND STEVE RODFORD ) AND A SELECTION OF SOLO TRACKS WITH A STRING QUARTET.
For your delight, the Zombies will now also perform on 9th March too! So, if you missed out of tickets for the 7th and 8th shows you’ve now got another great opportunity to see what will be a historic re-union.
The plan is to film the concerts for release (hopefully around Autumn/Winter 2008) on DVD.
In the meantime however, Colin, Rod, Keith, Jim and Steve will be playing some major shows on a big tour along with the Yardbirds in May/June 2008.
Great news for all you fans of Colin’s solo work – he is currently working "in the background" with arranger/composer Chris Gunning (who did arrangements on "One Year" and "Ennismore"). With a bit of luck we may have a Colin solo album in 2008, and it should have a distinctive "string" sound to it!! Fingers crossed………!!!
The Cloud Room
HEY NOW NOW
New York rock is notable for a particular type of sound - think Interpol, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Strokes etc. Now think of those doomy guitar chords and drawled vocals, add a big dose of Prozac on top and you have The Cloud Room.th
Hey Now Now has already been picked up as the soundtrack to a Ronaldinho-starring Pepsi Max advert, which more or less guarantees it chart success. Luckily then, it's irresistibly bouncy, upbeat and scarily addictive. After only a couple of listens you're nodding along to the chorus and thinking "well, maybe life isn't so bad after all".
And of course, being from New York, those pounding guitar chords lend the song a sense of danger and darkness which nicely balance out the more poppy moments. Unsurprising really, as lead singer J Stuart wrote the song while waiting for the results of a HIV test. An unlikely back story to one of the most upbeat singles of the year - get used to this song, you'll be hearing it a lot over the next few weeks.
